Short bio:
Fotios Tekos was born in 1995 and is originally from Evosmos, Thessaloniki. He graduated from the Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology at the University of Thessaly, receiving a distinction for his outstanding undergraduate performance as he achieved the highest grade in his class. At the postgraduate level, he completed the Master’s Program in Toxicology, conducting his thesis entitled “Assessment of Antioxidant & Antimutagenic Activity of Olive and Wild Olive Flower Extracts”, aiming to utilize this valuable Greek flower, much of which (approximately 80%) falls from the tree before turning into fruit.
Subsequently, he pursued his PhD on the topic of “Free Radical Toxicology” at the Laboratory of Physiology of Animal Organisms, Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, receiving his doctorate with distinction from the University of Thessaly.
Additionally, he is a Lead Auditor for ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 22000:2018, certified by the international certification body SWISS APPROVAL INTERNATIONAL. He has been recognized in the Forbes “30 Under 30 Greece” list as one of the 30 most influential and successful young professionals under 30 in Greece for 2024.
He has co-authored 37 articles published in international peer-reviewed scientific journals, with an h-index of 15, and holds a patent for an innovative method to evaluate the antioxidant and cytoprotective activity of foods and dietary supplements. He is also co-author of the best-selling book “Intermittent Fasting & Disease Prevention”, published by Armos Editions, now in its 23rd edition.
He serves periodically as an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Thessaly, teaching Physiology of Animal Organisms and Biochemical Toxicology. Finally, he is the CEO of FoodOxys and Olea Fortius.
