The Centre for Research and Technology – Hellas (CERTH) was established in 2000 and is the only research center in Northern Greece, as well as one of the largest in the country.

CERTH has achieved significant scientific and technological milestones in research areas of great interest to humanity and society, such as: Energy, Environment, New Functional Materials, Industrial Processes, Informatics, Telematics, Telecommunications, Transportation, Agrobiotechnology, Health Sciences, Mechatronics, and Agrotechnology.

The National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) is the oldest and most renowned educational institution in Greece in the field of technology and has contributed greatly to the scientific, technical, and economic development of the country since its establishment in 1836.

NTUA is currently an Autonomous Educational Institution by virtue of its legal and organizational structure. Through its continuous integration of studies and research, its main institutional mission is to provide high-quality higher education and to promote the sciences and technology.

The Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH) started its operations in 1983 and is one of the largest, best-organized, and well-equipped research centers in Greece.

The research and technological directions of FORTH focus on areas of major scientific, social, and economic interest, such as: Microelectronics, Lasers, Materials, Molecular Biology and Genetics, Biotechnology, Informatics, Bioinformatics, Robotics, Telecommunications, Computational Mathematics, Chemical Engineering, Humanities, and Culture.

The University of Patras (UPATRAS) is a nationally and internationally distinguished institution for higher education, thanks to its multifaceted and innovative activities in fields such as natural sciences, health sciences, and humanities and social sciences.

Its geographical location on the outskirts of the city of Patras allows it to connect with a rich natural environment and contribute to the development of the broader region.

The University of Thessaly (UTH) was founded in 1984 and has become a significant player in the Greek and international research landscape. It has facilities in Volos, Larissa, Karditsa, and Trikala, and over 31 years of operation, it has gained a prominent position in scientific research.

The Hellenic Mediterranean University – HMU was founded on April 25, 2019, evolving from the Technological Educational Institute of Crete. Located in Heraklion, Crete, it is the newest university in Greece. It currently consists of 5 Schools and 11 academic departments, with more than 12,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students and approximately 400 permanent and adjunct faculty and research staff. Its mission includes education through undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in the fields of Engineering, Management and Economics, Health Sciences, Agriculture, and Audiovisual Technologies.

The Institute of Plasma Physics & Lasers (IPPL) is part of the University Research Center of the Hellenic Mediterranean University and is a key player in the National Research Infrastructure HELLAS-CH, as outlined in the National Roadmap for Research Infrastructures.
