Short bio:

Dr. Pantelis Natsiavas is a Researcher (Grade C) at the Institute of Applied Biosciences (INAB | CERTH), where he heads the Digital Health Laboratory. He is also a Collaborating Researcher at the Laboratoire d’Informatique Médicale et d’Ingénierie des Connaissances en eSanté (LIMICS, Paris, France).

He holds a PhD from the University of Paris (Sorbonne, France), two Master’s degrees, and a Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He has been a fellow of the French Government and has collaborated with companies in Greece and abroad, providing software development and consulting services for over 15 years.

Since 2013, he has participated in numerous European and national R&D projects in Medical Informatics, focusing on the use of real-world data, telemedicine systems, health data security, drug safety, and pharmacovigilance. His research emphasizes Symbolic Artificial Intelligence and Knowledge Engineering approaches, including the development and use of ontologies and knowledge graphs.

He has served as the project leader for multiple research projects funded by industry, European, and national resources. Notably, he was the Technical Coordinator of the MyPal project (Horizon 2020) and the Scientific Coordinator for PVClinical (funded under “RESEARCH – CREATE – INNOVATE”). Currently, he is responsible for the national OHDSI node in Greece on behalf of INAB | CERTH and the Patient Registry for Home Mechanical Ventilation, as well as the Scientific Coordinator for three Digital Health R&D projects.

Dr. Natsiavas also supervises numerous Master’s theses and PhD dissertations, currently overseeing three doctoral candidates—two in Greece and one in France.
